Places are limited and advance registration through the registration form is essential. Those who attend will receive a certificate of attendance.
A programme with three sessions
The conference will start at 9:00 with the reception of participants and the institutional opening. Then will come the talk on disability, autonomy and quality of life by Mercedes Serrato, professor and doctor at the University of Huelva.
At 11:00 there will be a discussion on employment and disability, moderated by Miguel Ángel Mejías, head of the City Council's Employment Service, with representatives from INSERTA, ONCE, AONES and COCEMFE. At 12:00 the discussion «Dismantling stereotypes» will take place, moderated by Diego Lopa, coordinator of Social Services, with Blanca Betanzos, Inmaculada Gómez, Valeria Regoño, Juan Ignacio Gómez and Victoria Mora.
Within the framework of the Accessibility Plan
The activity is part of the work of the Local Council of People with Disabilities, a participation space that promotes awareness, training and inclusion initiatives, such as accessible cultural activities or educational proposals to bring the reality of disability closer to young people. It is also linked to the process of drawing up the Comprehensive Accessibility Plan for Huelva, with which the City Council is working to identify barriers and define a municipal strategy in areas such as the urban environment, mobility, public buildings, services and communication.
The deputy mayor for Family and Social Services, Adela de Mora, has encouraged citizens to take part and has valued the collaboration between administrations, social organisations and citizens to «move towards a Huelva in which all people can develop their life project with the necessary support and without barriers that limit their opportunities».
