The tenth edition of the Feria de Otoño y del Caballo de Huelva has closed with an estimated attendance of 50,000 visitors and a direct economic impact of more than four million euros in the city, according to the City Council's assessment.

An effect that goes beyond the venue

The economic activity has not stayed within the venue's casetas and catering services. The Consistorio notes that the casetas' catering establishments have conveyed their satisfaction and that there has also been a good atmosphere in the capital's hospitality sector. Added to this is more activity in businesses linked to the world of horses and flamenco fashion and in retail trade. Clothing, accessories and fabric shops have taken advantage of the event to extend the commercial season during the month of October. The Ayuntamiento adds that the fair has also provided work for caseta decoration, dry cleaners, hairdressers and the taxi service, among other sectors.

No incidents of particular relevance

Regarding security, the assessment reflects a calm event, with no incidents of particular relevance. The attendances have corresponded to situations usual in mass events, such as some alcohol intoxication and fainting, attended by Protección Civil. The celebration has had a special security and emergency device coordinated through the CECOPAL, installed in the indoor sports courts of the Parque Alcalde Juan Ceada Infantes. From there, the actions of the Policía Local, Policía Nacional, Guardia Civil, Bomberos, Protección Civil, health services and the various municipal areas involved have been coordinated. The device has taken into account the new layout of the venue, the activities of the Muelle de Levante and the mobility changes in the area around the avenida de Hispanoamérica. During the fair, the municipal cleaning, waste collection, water, sanitation, lighting and maintenance services have also been involved. The Ayuntamiento maintains that the Feria de Otoño y del Caballo continues its trajectory as an event of the capital and the province, with an impact on local economic activity and on various sectors that participate, directly or indirectly, in its celebration.
