The Cartaya City Council is teaching a Multipurpose Warehouse Operator Course, a 50-hour training programme designed to work in basic warehouse support tasks. The classes take place in the morning at the Carteia Training Centre.

What is learned

Students learn to handle goods safely, to apply food handling regulations and to use forklifts, stackers and lift platforms, always following safety and occupational risk prevention regulations. Of the total hours, 15 are a practical module in which this equipment is operated.

What it is for

According to the City Council, the course is aimed at understanding the basic operation of a warehouse, its organisation and the handling and storage of the different types of goods. The first deputy mayor and councillor for Local Development encouraged the students to «take advantage of this opportunity to improve your training in a profile highly demanded by companies in our municipality».

Who organises it

The training is part of the Comprehensive Projects for Labour Insertion Programme T Acompañamos, which the City Council runs through the Local Development area. It has the support of the European Union through the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), with the collaboration of the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy and the Junta de Andalucía.
