Aracena presents the Golden Ham to Los Romeros de Jabugo and the Golden Acorn to Francisco Casero
The Ham Gala of the XXIX Regional Ham and Iberian Pork Fair is held on Friday, October 23 at 21:00 at the Teatro Sierra de Aracena, with free admission. It recognises Los Romeros de Jabugo SL and Francisco Casero.

The XXIX Regional Ham and Iberian Pork Fair of Aracena faces its second and final weekend, from Friday, October 23 to Sunday, October 25, at the Recinto Ferial on Avenida de la Reina de los Ángeles. Admission to the site is free and it hosts 17 companies from the Iberian sector and 37 from other products and crafts, across more than 30,000 square metres next to the Gruta de las Maravillas.
The gala and its awards
The Teatro Sierra de Aracena hosts the Ham Gala on Friday, October 23, at 21:00. The Golden Ham goes this year to Los Romeros de Jabugo SL, a company from the Sierra behind the La Jabugueña brand, according to the Aracena Town Council. The Golden Acorn recognises Francisco Casero, a farmworkers' trade unionist who chaired the Andalusian Committee for Organic Farming (CAAE) and who today chairs the Fundación Savia, dedicated to defending the rural environment.
The Exaltation of the Ham will be given by Pepe Da Rosa, presenter of «Gente de Andalucía» on Canal Sur Radio. The gala is expected to include the twinning of the Aracena Fair with the 100% Iberian Acorn Ham Fair of the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Los Pedroches, in Villanueva de Córdoba, and the presentation of the poster for the thirtieth edition, that of 2027, by the local artist Luis Orquín Domínguez. The musical close will be by the singer María José Estrella.
What you can do over the weekend
The programme includes pork carving demonstrations organised by the Diputación de Huelva and tastings of the DOP Jabugo, both on Sunday at 12:00; technical sessions for professionals with INCEDECA on Friday, October 23 at 12:00; a popular tasting in the Plaza de San Pedro on Saturday at 22:00; a Cruzcampo beer-pouring contest on Saturday at 13:00; and a Showcooking on Friday, October 23 at 12:00 organised by the Asociación de Empresarios de Aracena.
On Sunday, October 25, at 17:30, the public draw of «Su Peso en Jamón» is held among those who have previously weighed themselves on the scale, which converts their kilos into Iberian hams.
How to attend
Tickets for the Ham Gala are free and can be obtained through the «Aracena Activa» app and at the box office on the afternoon of the event itself. Access to the Recinto Ferial is free.
