The Huelva Ibero-American Film Festival will bring the animated short film "Tsunami", written and directed by María Pulido, to schools. The work is part of the Cinema and Values programme, which brings short films to classrooms to open dialogues with their creators.

What the short film is about

"Tsunami" lasts nine minutes and was produced in Spain. It tells the story of Ana, who empties her grandmother's house in a coastal village. Among the memories she finds a photo: the last one. The sea roars, a wave bursts in and sweeps everything away. Ana then understands that the house is not the home.

Who is behind it

María Pulido writes and directs this work, in which she drives a plastic style with a voice of its own, according to the author's own description. Her previous career includes art supervision of sets and props on "Tadeo Jones 4" and the art direction of "Mariposas Negras", which in 2025 won the Goya, the Forqué and the Gaudí for Best Animated Film.

A programme within the Festival

Cinema and Values is part of the 52nd edition of the Huelva Ibero-American Film Festival, which is held from November 13 to 21. The event thus maintains its educational programme, which in this edition also includes the Primera Pantalla section, with seven films for schoolchildren from Huelva and its province, as this portal has reported.
