Hundreds of residents of Moguer walked through the streets of the municipality yesterday dressed in pink to show their support for women facing breast cancer. The march completed its tenth edition, according to the Moguer City Council.

A message of affection and hope

The City Council notes that the message of affection and hope towards those living with this disease was felt in every corner of the city along the route.

What the Marcha Rosa is

The Marcha Rosa is the solidarity event that Moguer holds every year to raise awareness of the fight against breast cancer. On this occasion it reaches its tenth anniversary, a figure that places the event among the longest-running of its kind in the province.

Other solidarity events in the province

The community mobilisation around breast cancer has been repeated these days in other parts of the province. On Sunday, October 18, more than a thousand people took part in the ninth Marcha contra el Cáncer de Isla Cristina, dedicated in that edition to skin cancer, starting from the Paseo de las Palmeras and with proceeds going to research, as this portal reported. In addition, the Gran Teatro de Huelva hosts on Friday, October 23, at 20.00 hours, a charity gala in tribute to Juan Carlos Díaz whose proceeds will go to the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer (AECC), with tickets at 12 euros, as this portal published on October 15.

Annual event

The Marcha Rosa de Moguer is held every year around World Breast Cancer Day, which is commemorated on October 19.
