The event will be on Thursday, October 22 from 17:00 at the UNIA Space of the Huelva Book Fair, which this year celebrates its 50th edition in the plaza de las Monjas until Sunday, October 25. In the session, the books will be people who narrate their own life stories, according to the Universidad Internacional de Andalucía (UNIA).

Who the books will be

The protagonists will be the publicist Anabel Domínguez, creator of the No soy lo que ves movement, and the writer May R. Ayamonte, winner of the Edebé Prize for Young Adult Literature 2026. Domínguez, a native of Gelves (Sevilla) and based in Huelva, is a publicist and creative copywriter, and currently works as a content creator and speaker. She drives No soy lo que ves, a movement that seeks to dismantle prejudices about people with disabilities. That same title gives its name to the book she published in 2024 with the publisher Libros Cúpula, in which she reflects, based on her own experience, on self-acceptance and the harm caused by labels. May R. Ayamonte (Ayamonte, 1996) comes to the fair after winning this year the Edebé Prize for Young Adult Literature with El maullido de la marisma, a novel set in Doñana. She has a degree in English Studies, with master's degrees in Teaching and Literature with a Gender Perspective. She became known as a booktuber and has developed her career between young adult literature and crime novels for adults. A resident of Granada, she combines writing with talks to promote reading in schools and secondary schools and with creative writing classes.

What a Human Library is

The Human Library is a movement that was born in Copenhagen (Denmark), where the reader finds, instead of books, people who tell their own story out loud. These activities provide a framework for personal conversations that help challenge prejudices, combat discrimination and contribute to greater human cohesion, overcoming social, religious, ethnic or any other kind of differences.

The UNIA Space at the fair

The Universidad Internacional de Andalucía takes part for another year in the Huelva Book Fair through the UNIA Space, a place where meetings, presentations, signings, talks, storytelling, competitions and workshops are held.
