The Beas Town Council has taken on three young people who will work for six months at the council. Their positions will be bricklayer, palm tree worker and building construction labourer, according to the Town Council.

Six-month contracts

The contracts last six months. The initiative is part of the ACTIVA-T Joven programme, promoted by the Junta de Andalucía and co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+). The aim, according to the Town Council, is for participants to train and gain work experience while strengthening municipal services.

How participants are selected

The selection of participants is managed through the Servicio Andaluz de Empleo (SAE), in accordance with the requirements of the Youth Guarantee. That is, it is not the Town Council that directly chooses the young people, but rather the process goes through the Andalusian public employment service and the conditions of that youth guarantee system.

What it means for the municipality

With these hirings, the Beas Town Council continues with the incorporations of this programme in the municipality. The three new workers join the municipal team to strengthen the council's services for half a year.
