The poet and director of the house-museum of Moguer since 1999, Antonio Ramírez Almanza, will receive the Perejil de Plata 2026, the highest award granted by the Fundación Zenobia-JRJ. This was unanimously approved by the plenary council of the institution, according to the Ayuntamiento de Moguer.

An open event at Santa Clara

The award ceremony will take place on November 4 at the monastery of Santa Clara de Moguer. The recognition distinguishes those who have stood out for their work in favor of poetry in general and the work of Juan Ramón Jiménez in particular.

More than 25 years at the head of the house-museum

The proposal came from the mayor of Moguer and president of the Fundación, Gustavo Cuéllar, before a plenary made up of representatives of the Ayuntamiento, the Diputación Provincial, the Junta de Andalucía and the Cátedra Juan Ramón Jiménez of the Universidad de Huelva. According to Cuéllar, «during his more than 25 years directing the house-museum with singular care and professionalism, Antonio Ramírez has stood out for his permanent commitment to the study and dissemination of the figure of the poet of Moguer». The mayor added that his work has gone beyond the management of a cultural institution. The Ayuntamiento notes that, at the head of the house-museum, Ramírez Almanza has promoted, coordinated and supported dozens of projects, research and activities to keep alive the memory of the Nobel laureate and bring his work closer to new generations.
