The municipal service Línea Verde, in operation since 2022, has resolved more than 3,600 incidents reported by the residents of Aljaraque. Street cleaning is the most frequent report, at 21% of the total.
The neighbourhood of Aljaraque has reported and seen resolved more than 3,600 incidents through Línea Verde, the service that the Town Council launched in 2022 to channel reports about the state of the municipality. According to the Council, the tool works through a free mobile application with which anyone can report a fault and follow its resolution.
What is reported most
By type of report, the most common is street cleaning, which accounts for 21% of incidents. Next are those related to pavements and roads (14%), street lighting (8%) and parks and gardens (7%). The Town Council attributes these results to the public's involvement in reporting problems.
How to report an incident
To use the service you must download the Línea Verde application, available free of charge on Google Play and the App Store for Android and iOS. Once installed, you select the municipality of Aljaraque and press the «Nueva Incidencia» button. You choose the type of problem from a drop-down menu and the application automatically detects the coordinates of the location. Then you must attach a photo, add a comment and send the report. Municipal staff then receive the notification and begin the procedures to resolve it, and the person who reported it receives a notification on their mobile phone each time the status of their incident changes.
The application also allows environmental queries to be submitted through the «Nueva Consulta» option, which are answered within a maximum of 24 hours by a team of experts and free of charge. In addition, the service is available by phone on 902 193 768, from 8:00 to 17:00 hours, at a cost of 0.07 euros per minute, and allows you to check points of interest and information about the municipality.
Council assessment
The councillor for New Technologies, Ignacio Pomares, has assessed the operation of the service and has stated that «it is a very useful tool that makes communication with the town council easier and speeds up the resolution of incidents thanks to citizen collaboration». Pomares has encouraged people to keep using a service he considers «simple, free and effective».
