Antonio Ramírez Almanza, director of the Juan Ramón Jiménez house-museum in Moguer since 1999, received the Perejil de Plata from the Zenobia-JRJ Foundation last night. The recognition was presented during the commemorative session of the 70th anniversary of the awarding of the Nobel Prize in Literature to the poet from Moguer, according to the Moguer City Council. The award distinguishes those who have stood out for their work in favor of poetry in general and of Juan Ramón's work in particular. In the case of Ramírez Almanza, the Foundation has valued the dedication of so many years to the Juanramonian cause at the head of the house-museum. The granting had been approved unanimously last October 19. That day, the plenary council of the Nobel Foundation, meeting with representatives of the Moguer City Council, the Provincial Council, the Junta de Andalucía and the Juan Ramón Jiménez Chair of the University of Huelva, endorsed the proposal of the mayor of Moguer and president of the institution, Gustavo Cuéllar. The mayor highlighted then "more than 25 years directing the house-museum with singular affection and professionalism" and a "permanent dedication" to the figure of the poet. The presentation coincides with an autumn of Juanramonian events in Moguer and Huelva. On October 25 marked 70 years since the announcement of the Nobel by the Swedish Academy, and from October 26 to 28 the University of Huelva and the municipality hosted an international congress for the anniversary, as reported by this portal. Ramírez Almanza has directed the house-museum since 1999. The Perejil de Plata is the highest award granted by the institution that manages the poet's house.
