Las Veredas celebrates its Mushroom Days on Saturday, November 28

On Saturday, November 28, 2026, the village of Las Veredas, in Almonaster la Real, hosts a new edition of the Mycological Days. The event begins at 9:00 with the gathering of participants at Salón Los Carrascos, where groups will be organized to go out into the field to search for and collect mushrooms. At 13:00 the return and pre-classification of the collected specimens is scheduled. Between 13:00 and 15:00 the products for the three announced competitions are received: the 2026 Mushroom Basket Competition, the Photography Competition «Setas de Almonaster 2026» and the Children's Competition «Mejor ejemplar 2026». In the afternoon, at 16:30, the mushrooms are classified and the mycological exhibition is prepared. At 18:00 the prizes are awarded for the photography, basket and children's competitions. Half an hour later, at 18:30, the mycologist Manuel Francisco García González gives the talk «Más allá de la cesta: curiosidades y secretos del reino fungi». The day ends at 20:00 with visits to the exhibition. The Ayuntamiento de Almonaster la Real encourages residents, mushroom enthusiasts and visitors to take part in an event that, it states, combines nature, outreach, tradition and community. Anyone who wants to take part in the field outing must come at 9:00 to Salón Los Carrascos in Las Veredas. For the competitions, products are received at the same place between 13:00 and 15:00 on Saturday, November 28.
