Four films make up the Latidos Section of the 52nd edition of the Festival de Huelva de Cine Iberoamericano, held from November 13 to 21. The section maintains its charitable nature to bring cinema closer to the public. Among the titles is «Acuérdate de mí», the new documentary by Huelva filmmaker Remedios Malvárez, winner of two Carmen awards from the Academia de Cine de Andalucía with «Fandangos». The film gathers actress Adelfa Calvo's memories of her grandmother, the singer La Niña de la Puebla. Animation arrives with «Tadeo Jones y la lámpara maravillosa», the fourth installment of the saga directed by Enrique Gato, and with «Winnipeg. El barco de la esperanza», by Beñat Beitia and Elio Quiroga, set in 1939 and focused on the freighter that took 2,200 Spanish refugees to Chile. The section is completed by «Un hijo», the debut feature by Nacho La Casa, starring Hugo Silva and Macarena García. Out of competition in Talento Andaluz, «El pezón de Elena» will be screened, the debut feature by Huelva director Esteban Magaz, performed by Silvia Acosta and Roberto Álamo. The Sesiones Especiales include the documentaries «Cómo habitar un cuerpo», by Cristóbal Osete, and «Desnudas. Desnudas de prejuicios, vestidas de verdad», directed and produced by journalist Esmeralda Marugán.

Music in the street and on stage

The Banda Sinfónica Municipal de Huelva will offer a concert dedicated to cinema on Friday, November 20, at the Plaza de Las Monjas. The event also joins the III Festival Iberoamericano de Jazz de Huelva, which from November 12 to 20 will bring figures such as Al Di Meola and Magos Herrera to the city, with free concerts and performances.

Training for screenwriters and actors

In the industry section, the festival hosts CreANDo, the program of the Agencia Andaluza de Instituciones Culturales to support the development of screenplay projects by Andalusian authors. Those selected will have professional meetings and a masterclass by screenwriter, producer and director Beto Marini on Saturday, November 14. The Residencia de Cine de Extremadura also participates, with the projects «La muñeca», «Bronce» and «Ojos color océano», and Cinenido, with «Fresh Spring Rolls», «La verbena» and «Mira». Actor Adrián Lastra will give a masterclass on Friday, November 13, at the IES Pintor Pedro Gómez, in collaboration with AISGE (Artistas Intérpretes, Entidad de Gestión de Derechos de Propiedad Intelectual). The educational program is completed with Primera Pantalla, Cine y Valores and Ventana Cinéfila, as detailed by the Festival de Huelva.
