Children between 5 and 12 years old, having turned that age by January 5, 2027, who were born or reside in Huelva capital and who have not participated as figurants in previous editions may apply for a place in the 2027 Cabalgata de Reyes Magos. The registration period opens on Tuesday, November 3 and closes on November 9, as announced by the Ayuntamiento de Huelva.
Applications are submitted in person at the Concejalía de Cultura y Patrimonio Arqueológico, in the Pabellón de Poniente of the Casa Colón, from 10.00 to 13.00 hours. Brothers and sisters who register together will enter the draw with the same number, so that families do not have to be separated.
The draw calendar
On November 13, the provisional list of admitted applicants will be published on the notice board of the Casa Colón. Appeals may be submitted from November 16 to 20. If there are no appeals, that list will become final.
The public draw will be on Tuesday, December 1, at 12.30 hours, at the Gran Teatro de Huelva. The following day, December 2, the list of selected participants and substitutes will be announced on the same notice board.
Afterwards, the families of those selected will be called to assign the floats and costumes and receive the parade instructions.
Adult companion and prior talk
Each minor must be accompanied during the Cabalgata by a responsible adult. That person will have to attend an informative talk on safety beforehand, which will be held on December 15 at 10.00 hours in Sala A of the Casa Colón. The father, mother or legal guardian must also sign a declaration of responsibility and an image rights authorization.
The Ayuntamiento asks that advance notice be given if a minor finally cannot participate, so that their place can be given to someone on the substitute list.
The complete rules are available on the municipal website, huelva.es, in the Agenda section.
The concejal de Cultura y Patrimonio Arqueológico, Nacho Molina, has stated that the draw seeks «that all the little ones have the same opportunities to participate» and that the experience reaches new families every year.
